Financial Assistance
Annual dues are the main source of IATUR income. IATUR gives out a part of this income every year in Andrew Harvey Fellowships to assist with travel costs. These awards are SMALL, and will NOT cover the cost of travel. In recent years, we have only been able to meet less than 20% of the financial need for which people have applied. Nevertheless, the Association will do the best we can to assist those in need of support to attend the conference.
If you are in need of financial support to attend the conference, please send an e-mail to iatur2012matsue@mlsv.u-shimane.ac.jp
Please put IATUR financial support and your surname in the subject line. In the body of the text, please note your name, your institutional affiliation, the country from which you will travel, the title(s) of the papers and posters you hope to present at the conference, and the level of support you would require to attend the conference.
The deadline to apply for financial assistance is 5 April 2012. You do not need to wait to hear whether your paper has been accepted – you can apply at any time until 5 April. Nevertheless, we will only make awards to people who have had papers or posters accepted for presentation. Kindly note that we preference people who have not received financial support to attend an IATUR conference previously. If you need financial support, we strongly recommend that you apply to other sources of funding. Please do not rely on IATUR or the local organizers as your only source of funds. We will announce awards on 15 April 2012.
